Commercial carpet fitting that works around your business
A commercial floor takes more wear than a carpet at home. Office chairs roll over it all day, staff and customers walk the same routes, and the building may need a fire classification certificate for the carpet.
Time is usually the bigger problem. Most businesses can’t close for a day while the floor is replaced, so we book commercial fits for evenings and weekends and agree the order of rooms with you before we start.
We fit for office managers, facilities teams, shop and showroom owners, property managers and community organisations across London For carpet in your home, see our carpet fitting in London page.
What every commercial job includes
Your written quote shows what is included and what is priced separately, so nothing changes on the day.

Choosing the right commercial carpet
The right carpet depends on how hard the floor works and what the building needs. We help you set the specification at the survey, whether you buy the carpet through us or supply your own.
How commercial carpet differs from domestic carpet
Carpet is graded for wear under the European standard EN 1307. Domestic carpet carries use classes 21 to 23, and commercial carpet carries classes 31 to 33, for moderate, general and heavy use.
For a busy reception, corridor or open-plan office, look for class 33 on the product label or data sheet.
Carpet tiles
Carpet tiles are a common choice for offices. They are fixed with a tackifier, an adhesive that stops tiles sliding but lets a damaged or worn tile be lifted and replaced on its own.
Tile tackifiers are also made for use over raised access floor panels, so the cabling underneath stays within reach.
Roll carpet (broadloom)
Roll carpet, also called broadloom, gives an unbroken finish across large rooms, halls and boardrooms. It is either fitted over underlay on gripper rods, or stuck down.
In the double-stick method, the underlay is glued to the floor and the carpet is glued to the underlay. We plan seams at the survey so joins fall where they will be least visible.
Fire classification
Floor coverings are classified for reaction to fire under EN 13501-1. Ratings appear as a letter with “fl”, such as Bfl or Cfl, followed by a smoke rating such as s1, which means low smoke production.
In England, Approved Document B sets the minimum class by building type and location. Your fire risk assessor or building control decides what your building needs, and we fit to that specification
How a commercial carpet fit works
1
Free technical site survey
We measure the space, check the subfloor and note access: lifts, stairs, loading and parking. We also help you settle the carpet specification.
2
Fixed, written quote
It itemises fitting per m², subfloor preparation, uplift and disposal, and any carpet supply.
3
Agreed schedule
We book an evening or weekend slot and agree the order of rooms, so your team can keep working
4
Floor preparation
Old flooring is lifted, the subfloor is cleaned and repaired, and uneven floors are levelled. If preparation needs its own visit, we schedule it first.
5
Fitting to BS 5325
The carpet is fitted using the method agreed at the survey.
6
Handover
We clear the site and leave spare tiles for future repairs. If rippling or a seam failure is caused by our workmanship, we come back and fix it at no extra cost.

Commercial carpet fitting FAQs
Can you fit our carpet outside business hours?
Yes. We offer evening and weekend slots for commercial fits, so your premises can stay open while we work.
Do you move office furniture?
Yes, our fitters move desks and cabinets as they work . Please disconnect computers and clear desk tops before we arrive .
Do you take away the old carpet?
Yes. Uplift and disposal is priced separately in your quote after the survey.
Should our office have carpet tiles or roll carpet?
Carpet tiles suit most offices, because single tiles lift out for cabling and repairs. Roll carpet suits boardrooms, halls and receptions where you want an unbroken finish.
Can you fit carpet tiles on a raised access floor?
Yes. Tile tackifiers are made for raised access floor panels, so the cabling underneath stays within reach.
How long does a commercial fit take?
It depends on the floor area, the subfloor and access to the building. We confirm the exact timeline at the free site survey.
Do you supply the carpet, or fit only?
Both. We can supply the carpet, or fit carpet you have bought elsewhere.
What does fitting to BS 5325 mean?
BS 5325 is the British Standard code of practice for installing textile floor coverings, including carpet and carpet tiles. The current edition is BS 5325:2021. Carpet warranties can depend on correct installation, so check the terms for your product.
What fire rating does our carpet need?
That depends on the building and where the carpet goes. Your fire risk assessor or building control sets the class under EN 13501-1, and we fit to that specification.
